Netherfield CE Primary School

This term our Topic is called, 'Bright Lights, Big City'. It is a Geography based Topic based around London, the UK and then comparing London to a very culturally different city. We will laso use London as a focus for our literacy work, using fiction and non-fiction based around our captial city. The Queen's hat, takes us on a Journey around the famous Landmarks in London and the children will immerse themselves in the langauge anad rhythm of the story before having a go at writing their own!

We will then move to Pudding Lane where we will learn all about The Great Fire of London- why it started, spread so quickly and how they finally stopped it in it's tracks. The children will look at the features of non-fiction writing and in setting out information in a booklet.

Our Science Learning will be focussed on the seasons, weather and other seasonal changes. 

We would welcome any photos you have of visits to London- post them on Class Dojo so we can share them with the class!

Our phonics learning will continue at it's usual pace and the children will soon have their own phonics wallets to help them recognise and use these graphemes at home.
