Mummifying Apples
In Term 2, we mummified apples by drying them in salt. We removed the pips as organs, which the Egyptians stored in special Canopic Jars. We embalmed our apples in oil and spices, wrapped them in strips of cloth, and created beautifully decorated coffins to place them in. We even moulded scarab amulets, which the Egyptians would place over the heart before burial.
Happy Christmas!
In the last few weeks before Christmas holidays, we had lots of festive fun, including melting snowman biscuit making (and eating!), plenty of other snacks, crafts and games, and even a showcase of holiday music from some of our talented class musicians. On party day, we really enjoyed our time on the mini trampolines, thanks to a generous donation from a family in the school. It brought a whole new meaning to 'Christmas Jumpers'!
Perfect Puddings
On Elves' Workshop day, we made about 150 ornaments in one day! We were especially pleased with how our Christmas Pudding wooden coasters turned out. A HUGE thank you to Mr and Mrs Saunters for donating the supplies for all our Christmas decoration projects, and to Mr Saunters for cutting all of the wood for our puds.
